In this booklet, Fabian Zeller presents contemporary, short and masterfully composed guitar pieces from easy to medium difficulty for all age groups.
“Klangszenen” are short character pieces that musically depict images, scenarios or emotional moods. The focus is on imagination and musicality, as well as the perception of form and structure in music. The composer demonstrates ways of using the pieces to work out the musical meaning of images using specific examples, thereby making guitar playing more lively and creative overall.
The pieces are arranged according to five musical focal points:
Articulation
Tone
Balance with polyphony
Polyphony with arpeggios
Dynamics and phrasing
For each focus there are explanations of the theme and technical details, and small preliminary exercises are included where necessary.
